Most mancoolersrs are used to generate an air movement across and around a worker in a hot environment. The cooling occurs when evaporative and convective heat losses from his body are increased because of high velocity air motion across and around him. The effectiveness of the mancooler in such cases should be judged by its ability to maintain high velocities on the axial flow line 20 to 50 feet from the mancooler.

The TLO provides a standard air velocity envelope for general ventilation, smoke removal or product cooling. By adding the air straightener the velocity envelope is changed drastically for ~ore effective mancooling.
